This is what the start of a sunrise in Kentucky in March looks like. I wanted to get the sun peeking over the trees, but I was already late for work. Maybe next time!

Hippity Hoppity (88/365)
Project 365: 88/365
Easter is on it's way! And spring is definitely here. Being allergic to every single type of Kentucky tree pollen, my allergies have let me know that everything is in bloom at once around here. I've been sneezing, wheezing, coughing and wiping watery eyes for a few days now. Claritin and Benedryl are my two best buds right now.

Friends & TiVo Repairs
Project 365: 86/365
Saturday was such a nice day we decided to have an impromptu cookout with a few friends. Charlie & Christina came over with their dogs Molly and Scrappy. And John & Jenn also came out for some good food. After everyone ate we headed back up to the house to watch the Cats play (and lose). It was a fun evening!
Project 365: 87/365
Our TiVo hard drive has been clacking for a while so we knew it was going bad. We didn't realize how bad until we were watching the game, which feeds through the TiVo via live television, and the signal kept breaking up. So Jason decided to swap out the hard drive in it today. He's not had much luck and isn't sure what's wrong. So for the time being we've moved a spare TiVo downstairs with a smaller hard drive until he can get the larger one straightened out.

Barns & Dogs
Yesterday we went to view a couple of properties we were interested in. This was the one we were really hoping would work out, but in the end result it didn't. The cleared 6 acres was ok, the barn was great and the pond was awesome. But the remaining 11 acres of woods was horrible and unusable. They were a huge drop down to the creek below. If it was gently rolling it would have been perfect, but it was almost cliff like, so we had to pass on it. We looked at another one but it appeared that it had already been purchased even though it was still listed. The sign was gone and some work was being done, though I don't think we would have been happy with that one either. So the search continues!
And this is just a goofy photo of Lois. We wanted to see what she would do if we sat her in a box. She just sat there and looked at us like "what are you doing?". Fun with dogs!

Rainy Days, Lazy Dogs
Project 365: 80/365
I always have to fight the beast to get a spot on the couch. If I resort to the armchair, he decides he's a lap dog...and then I can't see the tv.
Project 365: 81/365
When the big dog toys are too big to fit in your mouth, just sleep on them.
In regular, non-dog news, we found another piece of property that looks *really* nice and perfectly what we're looking for, in theory. We'll find out on Friday when we go check it out to see if it's all it appears to be. It's in Taylorsville, so not too far from Louisville and in a beautiful area of the state, very close to Taylorsville Lake. It's 18.5 acres and already has a structurally sound tobacco barn on it, which would be awesome for storage. The front 6 acres are cleared and the rest is all nice, lush woods with a gentle drop-off perfect for building out a walk-out ranch (so we were told). We're trying not to get our hopes up too much, but if this really is all it's described to be, we'll be making a purchase real soon and our 6 acres at Dog Woods will be put up for sale. More updates on Friday!

Yellow Tulips - (79/365)
My mom and grandma came by the other day and Grandma brought me some beautiful yellow tulips to plant in the flower beds. The weather has been so beautiful that we've spent a lot of the last couple of days outside - great weather to end my 10 day stint at home.
We're on the property hunt again. We're looking for our final destination piece of land - preferably 20 acres or more, which we will build on. We looked at 28 acres and 26 acres yesterday, but did not like the way the land had very large drop-offs, making it mostly unusable. We have a few more we've inquired on, including a 65 acre piece that sounds too good to be true, so it probably is. Hopefully soon I'll be showing photos of our new property!

Butterfly Koi (78/365)
A few of the fish in our backyard pond. The gold and white ones are butterfly koi and the orange speckled one is a shubunkin goldfish. The hawks or herons, or maybe both, have obviously been fishing in the pond. We're down quite a few fish from what we started with. But we're looking to add a few more koi soon.

Sugar Gliders! (77/365)
Today my friend Brittany stopped by and brought along three of her four sugar gliders! Jason and I have been wanting to see them and she was in the neighborhood so came by for a visit. They are soo cute! Sugar gliders are small, gliding marsupials native to Australia and New Guinea. They have little arm flaps that allow them to glide through the air, sorta like a flying squirrel. Just because they are cute doesn't mean they are for everyone though. For a full run-down on sugar gliders as pets, be sure to read Brittany's blog post of all the ins and outs of sugar glider care. Jenn stopped in to meet the little guys too - I think she liked them!

Spring is Here! (76/365)
Ahhh the lovely beginnings of spring's pretty colors! These blooms are sprouting under our front yard maple tree. I'm really not sure what they are, but what a wonderful sign of the color and blooms to come!
Doing so much better today. I actually removed my butt from the couch and spent most of the day at my office computer. Then Jason and I porch dwelled for a bit. Once it got chilly we started up a nice fire in the fire pit on the lower porch and had a great evening chatting and enjoying the nice weather. From tomorrow through Saturday it's supposed to be in the upper 60's - whooo! Because of this glorious weather we plan to porch dwell with friends on Friday evening and I can't wait! Even with all the Wii goodies going on the last few months, I can't wait to hang on the screened in porch in the nice weather again!

Stealth Mode...Almost (75/365)
Her white patches and beady eyes give her away!
As for me, I'm feeling much better today. I should be able to remove myself from the couch tomorrow. I've been up and about quite a bit today, even swept the dog hair off the floor because it was driving me insane watching it blow across the room. Maybe tomorrow we can look forward to a non-dog photo - perhaps a St. Paddy's Day photo! We'll see how it goes...

B/W Buddy - 73/365
I'm still couch ridden so you're still at the mercy of couch dogs. Buddy lays with me daily - my trusty side-kick, even though he does kick me more than he should! Feeling much better today. I haven't had any pain medication since I woke up this morning and won't take anymore until right before bedtime since I tend to toss and turn in my sleep. Here's to hoping tomorrow will be an even better day!
Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (72/365)
Actually it was more of a "oh no, here comes that flashy thing again". Hehe. More couch shots. I haven't really done much more than sit on the couch, nap, watch tv and play online. Feeling better today and am going to try to get some work done on the PetResearch.net site though.
Also, yesterday started the new photo scavenger hunt round, so maybe I'll get some more interesting shots that aren't just my dogs!

My View from the Couch (71/365)
Nine times out of ten when I look up this is what I see! Blue likes to check up on me while I'm recovering, but he knows he can't jump up on the couch with me. Such a sweet boy!
Gall Bladder Removal Recovery
I'm happy to say that the gall bladder removal was successful! Though my belly button will never be the same again since that was the exit for the gall bladder and all the stones, including one that was the diameter of a quarter. Oh well, one more excuse to avoid bikinis! Recovery is going well. Just a little bit of discomfort that the pain pills mostly take care of. Still bloated with the gas they pumped in me and I think once that's gone I'll feel much better. I camped out on the couch yesterday and likely will be doing the same today, but at least today I'm almost fully coherent and not falling asleep every 20 minutes.
Also, I didn't get a chance to post my last two project photos before I went to surgery, so here they are. I had the good idea to get yesterday's photo that morning knowing I would not be in the shape to do so after I got home!
Knock Back a Cold One: 69/365
This is a beer stein I bought and etched a dragon on for myself. I was born in the Year of the Dragon. I also made Jason a tiger stein for his birth year, though I think his is collecting dust on his desk shelf.
A Storm is Brewing: 70/365
And this one I took yesterday morning before heading to the hospital. I thought I was going to miss the first storm of the year (I love thunderstorms, minus tornadoes), but this storm ended up passing us by. It made for some nice clouds though!

Red Shouldered Hawk (Project 365: 67/365)
Yesterday was such a beautiful day that Jason and I spent most of the afternoon on the screened porch with the pups. I got all the boys' photos. Lois Lane wouldn't sit still (go figure).

Canine Disapproval (Project 365: 65/365)
This is Bailey. He is cared for by our friends Eric and Teena. A cute little chihuahua with a big attitude! He's actually a very sweet dog, but I think every photo I have of him has this look of "I dare you!". We saw Bailey tonight at a cookout/Last Game at Freedom Hall for the Cards party. He's a cute little stinker!

Nutty Blue (Project 365: 60 & 61/365)
And Blue, cleaning up after a yummy dinner. Love that tongue!
We had a "team building" outing today at work for the eBusiness team and we got to leave work at 2:30 and spend a couple of hours at the bowling alley. It was fun for a change, especially for a Tuesday. I bowled a 96 and a 102. Not great, but not bad considering it's only the fourth time I've been bowling this year and haven't been before that in forever. One of these days I'll get the hang of it again!
I'm hoping to get back into my regular photo scavenger hunt this coming month to help provide more interesting shots for my one a day project - we'll see what happens!
