Camping

In 2007 we bought our first travel trailer so we could easily take our dogs on camping trips with us.
We were total beginners and looking for something cheap to start out with to make sure it was something we were going to enjoy.  We ended up buying a 2006 Gulfstream Cavalier that was leftover stock from FEMA trailers sent to Katrina victims.  It was nice for our first camper and had a full fridge, oven, stove, microwave, queen bed and bunk beds, bath/shower, but very little storage and, of course, no slides to make it roomier inside.

We used it a total of three times at public campgrounds before buying our own six acre wooded plot in Indiana to park it on.  Dog Woods, as it was called, became our camping spot.  We had electricity but no water or sewage, which was fine for small weekend trips.  The dogs loved it because they could be off leash 100% of the time and we loved it because no one bothered us and we bothered no one.

After having Dog Woods for two years we found our new home on 11 wooded acres and decided to sell Dog Woods and the camper since we'd technically be living in our own camping area, with all the amenities.  That was in 2010.  We were getting the itch to travel, but didn't want to leave our three dogs behind, so we purchased a very nice 28 foot Jayco Eagle travel trailer to accommodate two humans and three dogs.  We already had "Big Nasty", a Ford F-350 Diesel. Fast forward to 2014 and wanted more room to accommodate longer trips, so we sold the Eagle. We waited until winter and came across a great deal on a 2004 Americamp fifth wheel with a superslide. We had a fifth wheel hitch installed and now we're all set!

So this section of the site is dedicated to our upcoming RV trip blog posts, campgrounds we have visited, camping trip photos, and pretty much anything else that will help us document and organize our much anticipated RV Adventures!  The map above shows which states we've camped in.  We're hoping to fill it in a lot more!
