Attack!

Our friends and their dog Chase spent the holiday weekend with us and our pups had a grand old time playing with a new friend.  Chase and L.B. are about the same size so they were joined at the hip the entire weekend, much to Giant Dawg's delight.  Now that Chase is gone, Giant Dawg is back to being bullied by L.B., usually against his will.

Wining and Dining!

The Girls:

The Boys:

While our friends from Indy were here over the Memorial Day weekend we decided to take a group trip out to Smith-Berry Winery for their first live concert series of the summer.  We got there early, despite a few sprinkles, and set up camp with a table and chairs. We had a yummy dinner of organic country cookin' and listened to Nervous Melvin and the Mistakes while we sipped on wine and beer and played dice. It was the second time we've been to a concert series and likely will not be our last. It's always a good time and supports the local winery - you just can't go wrong there!

New Buddies

Our friends from Indy came to visit for Memorial Day weekend and brought their dog, Chase, as usual. This was the first time Chase and L.B. have met.  I think they hit it off, don't you?  ;)

The Dog Whisperer

The dogs know who to go to when treats are being handed out!

Old office = New Gaming Room for The Boy

We moved the office out of a small bedroom in the basement and into the downstairs living room so we'd have more space and airflow.  That left this room open for Jason to play his online games with his buddies and have his own dark Man Cave.

New Office Space!

Introducing the new Webfoo, Inc office! We moved our office from a small, dungeon bedroom out into the open, airy living room that was never used except for Jason's gaming. It is such a huge improvement! We actually get fresh air when the windows are open and don't freeze to death with the A/C is on.  Just having more breathing room helps productivity!  And it doesn't hurt that I get a partial view of the back yard from my desk, either.

Baby Bump - I'm Gonna Be a Grandma - Yikes!

In January I found out that I'm going to be a Grandma!  Yikes!  I'm too young, you say?  Yes I agree!  37 is too young to be a grandma. Bu alas, I do have a 20 year old daughter and come August she will be welcoming a baby girl into the world.  Assuming it really is a girl her name will be Laila Naome.  Jason and I will be Papa J and CeeCee.  More updates as the months go by!

All Tuckered Out

Today we took Lois Lane and L.B. to the Kentucky Humane Society Waggin' Trail - a 3 mile run / walk with the dogs to raise money for the KHS. They did really good! It was L.B.'s first time and he tried to break bad on every dog that crossed his path not realizing that most of them could squash him like a bug.  We didn't take Giant Dawg since he tends to get sick on car rides and it was pretty warm out, too.  This is the third year we've done the Waggin' Trail and plan to do many more!  Each one raises approximately $30,000 for KHS so it's well worth it - and fun!

Sunbeam Has Been Located

Poor L.B. He loves his sun beams but because of how our house is laid out this is as close as he gets to one when inside.  So when the windows are opened I open the back french door and put up the gate so he can bask in all his glory.

Saved by Jason from an Impending Road Death

This little green dude is lucky Jason has a kind heart.  He was trying to cross the street and Jason nabbed him up just in time before he was in danger of being squashed on the road.  He let him go in the back yard  - so long little dude!

Don't Forget to Stop to Smell the Flowers

I was actually just trying to get a picture of the pretty pink tulip in full bloom, but L.B. insisted on posing, too.

Horse & Jockey Zentangle

Horse & Jockey Zentangle

I've recently started playing with Zentangles after a Facebook friend introduced me to this type of doodling art.  Technically, zentangles shouldn't have any realistic shape or form, just patterns, but I find these to be more fun and can display a specific theme.  This one of a jockey on a horse I did for friends of ours that throw great Derby parties every year and have a Derby themed living room in their house.  This is the first one I've done with a theme, so I'm happy with how it turned out.  I hope to do many more to add to my collection! I'd like to play around some more with themed tangles and also try some in color.

To learn more about Zentangle and Zentangle patterns, check out Zentangle.com and Tangle Patterns.  Or check out some really cool Zentangle galleries from Flickr's Zentangle Mania Group or my Zentangle PInterest board.

The Hens Got Their Coop Sign Hung Today

This is a craft grade bread board I bought from Michael's crafts. I painted a chicken on the front, eggs in the grass on the top with acrylic paints and used my Cuttlebug to cut out the letters and decoupaged them onto the board.  After a coat of exterior sealant made for wood, it was good to go!  So now the girls have their own sign above the egg hatch door of the chicken coop.

Taco Dip Recipe

Taco Dip RecipeAll of our friends call this "Crack Dip" because it is SO. FREAKING. GOOD!  I make it for almost
all of our get-togethers.  I have found that it has become expected of me and when I don't make it I get lots of pouts.  This is something my mom taught me how to make when I was in high school and often my friends would come over after school and we would make this and chow down.  Out of the goodness of my heart, I'm providing the recipe below. It's very easy, very cheap and very good!

Ingredients:
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese
  • 8 ounces Sour Cream
  • 1 package El Paso Taco Seasoning (I use Mild)
  • 1 - 2 cups Shredded Lettuce
  • 3 cups Shredded Cheese (I use the Mexican or Fiesta blend)
  • Grape Tomatoes - halved
  • Tortilla Chips

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl blend cream cheese until smooth.

  2. Blend in sour cream until smooth.

  3. Blend in taco seasoning until mixed well.

  4. Spread base mixture on a platter and smooth with the back of a spoon until platter is mostly covered.

  5. Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese over the mixture.

  6. Sprinkle all of the shredded lettuce.

  7. Sprinkle another layer of shredded cheese.

  8. Add tomato slices.

  9. Add another fine layer of shredded cheese.

  10. Serve with nacho chips normally - but for low carb scoop with pork rinds, celery or another low-carb vehicle.
You can also add in any other toppings such as olives, onions, etc, but I keep it simple for the masses. Chill in the refrigerator if not being served right away.  ENJOY!

Sunset porch dwelling is back!

I'm so happy that it's back to porch dwelling weather again!  Love these sunsets, even though the trees often get in the way.
